Long time no see
Happy new year and all the appropriate sundries. It feels like ages since I've posted here. I'm happy to report I've had a wonderful break enjoyed some amazing gigs and am back fresh and ready to hit the studio for 2018.

On the Decks
So it's been a great break for me I've played some really awesome gigs. Including Syco pres. Activist at Montague Nightclub here in Brisbane. Check out my set from that night just below. This set actually made it to 38th on the Psytrance chart and 49th on the Tech Trance chart on Mixcloud.com. (Doctor Duck, 2018)
I was also played Eden on the Gold Coast's Annual Christmas Party just before Christmas and just a few weeks ago I received the call up to play Amped Nightclub's Final Boat Party. This was an awesome night floating along the Brisbane River.
In the Studio
Back in the studio and I'm really motivated for 2018. I've got some really exciting plans for the next 12 months and I hope you'll join me on one hell of a ride. Yesterday I pitched my idea for an EP to my colleagues. It was a great presentation. I believe I articulately conveyed the artistic and technical goals of the project well as well as the creative inspirations for each track. The pitch included budget analysis, target audience, scope and motivations; as well as a detailed timeline and plan to get this project to the finish line. There was minimal feedback as I covered all aspects of the project. The next time I pitch an idea of this magnitude I will prepare a better script as I think I may have lost my place a few time and gotten off topic with the passion I have for the project.
The EP will be called Get Ducked!?! and will be launched on the 2nd May 2018. Here is my objectives for this project.
This is working artwork and I'm hoping to deliver my best work yet.
As for other activities in the studio I've been testing my skills mixing bands and completed a few one hour mix challenges here is the finished product from my first one.
Since then I have been given the opportunity to learn a new studio which contains an Avid S6 console.

This incredibly powerful console is one I've fallen in love with. Not happy with my result in the mix above I revisited these stems using this consloe and the fantastic outboard gear available. Check out this little video from my session the other day.

Here is my final version of the track, I think you'll agree in just a week utilising this awesome tool my skills have greatly increased.

In the Club
There are some absolutely amazing gigs coming up in Brisbane over the next few weeks. Firstly we have the Neptune Project Boat party and Club set coming up Saturday 3rd March. This event and the club after party is sold out and promises to be a magical evening on the Brisbane River.

Then there is the big one, Paradigm at Venue EI8HT in Brisbane. This event has 2 rooms 5 of the biggest Trance artists in the world today and a special extended set from my personal favourite DJ John Askew. Watch out for my case study on his track Raven coming soon to my blog. This will be a hell of a night out for any music lover.
